Remit2india.com/Sending money to India

I have used remit2india.com to send money to India. They says that the rate will be applied as per the exchange rate of the day your funds are converted. They are cheating the customer. They are not disclosing what rate they have applied to your fund. Nor they keep the old rate on their site.

What they basically doing is converting your fund on the less rate and saying that was the rate when your fund are converted and cheating the customer.

I checked their web site and call the customer service rep to check the exchange rate for June 22 when my fund was converted and I was told that the exchange rate at 12:30 a.m Eastern time for NRE Account is 40.39 and Normal is 40.32

I did my transaction as NRE Account but I was given the exchange rate of 40.32

They are cheating the customer. Check well before doing any business with them

Thanks

Suneet Bansal

I feel, Following reasons are enough to advise not to do business with remit2india.

Fraud in Remit2india service? MAY BE YES... i sent money 25 days back and the money still haven't reached the recipient......................

Is customer service good @ Remit2india? ABSOLUTELY NO.... when checking about transaction status, even they don't have authorization to give 100% details of the transaction and the only guys have access is "COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT" who can be reached only by e-mail.......................

Can you expect response from compliance department @ Remit2india immediately? ABSOLUTELY NO....... every time, you ask to check into transaction further which can't be handled by customer service, you get an e-mail from compliance department which says, we will get back to you within 24-48 hrs.... and u know what, you will get final status of the inquiry only after a week. this happened to me thrice on the same transaction which took for a total of 3 weeks and still no result as of today......................

Can you take legal action aginst remit2india? ABSOLUTELY YES..... yes... you heard it correct... this is what I was told by remit2india customer service when asked if I can do anything on a transaction with no status even after 25 days......................

Does customer service @ remit2india show courtesy? ABSOLUTELY NO... when asked to talk to a higher manager to inquire more about a transaction that was not complete even after 3 weeks, the response I got was " customer service agent hung up the phone on my face"......................

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM REMIT2INDIA

I have used Remit2India in the past and was generally satisfied until an issue happened, and boy oh boy, they are their customer service is non existent.

So it has been 3 weeks that I sent my Remittance (USD 7.500) via Remit2India and it has not been recieved by the Payee. When I call their Customer Service, they are very unfamiliar with the process, cannot (and are not able to help).

I have resorted to sending daily emails to all the Remit2India contacts with the statistics about my case, like:

# weeks/days since Money was remitted (ACH)

# 9 Emails sent to Remit2India (Mr. Arvind Yadav - Relationship Officer was supposed to call me today but he did not)

# Countless Phone calls made to Remit2India

I am not sure when it my issue will be resolved, but please be warned.. once you have an issue (like this) there seems to be no resolution.

Remit 2 India
remit2india.com

This is a BS service. I could have drawn up a DD locally against SBI or any other bank in the US that does INR DDs and still could have got the money in good time to my parents in India.

Every time the story is the delivery will be in 2-3 days once the funds are confirmed. however funds get confdirmed and debited one one date and then it has taken about 2 weeks for the money to reach India.

I had avoided this service like the plague for a coupel of years. Recently I found that they had introduced something called "Rupee Express". This promised the same 2 day delivery and I decided to try once again. They also had a new "mobile alerts" to let me know what happens to the transaction via SMS.

The same story but this time after two weeks the money had not reached yet. So I write to them and ask about the status. I get a response that indicates that there were some details missing in the transaction and hence the money could not be delivered and that I should update the beneficiary details.

It took them 2 weeks to find out that the beneficiary details were incorrect. It appears that they have a phone number from what peopel have said here, however when I call all I get is a status update that says that the money has been dispatched.

This is a ridiculuos service. Preloaded cash cards may be a better option. Even if you have to do a few of them. Now I have the long and arduous process of getting my money back from these incompetent company.
