BMW X5 Hope you can assist with my complaint. To whom it may concern. My BMW X5 has now once again been at Leohaese Centurion for more than a month, with the original problem. This vehicle has spent almost 4 month at the dealership, and I have been totally inconvenienced and unable to perform my work and other duties effectively because of this. I do not want this vehicle back due to all the problem I have had with it, and as per my original dealings with J. Due Plessis, I would like this vehicle exchanged for a similar one, as he agreed. As per the letter bellow this vehicle is not at all in the same condition I purchased it, including a accident due to bad repairs from your work shop, which could have caused my death. I am also not at all happy about driving a BMW 118 loan vehicle, which does not allow me to participate in my sport and other activities due to no tow bar and the size of the vehicle, which does affect my work. I would appreciate a response on this email by end of the working day, or I will have to take legal action. The grill on the front bumper is broken from the inside out, due to the plastic vent not being in the right place and them forcing the bumper on. I had a number of problems with my previous X5 Reg No MDY137GP, and had decided to upgrade. After collecting the vehicle, and driving it home, I noticed that when applying the brake gently on the freeway, at approximately 120km/h the steering would shake trebly. The gear change was not very smooth, and there where 3 - 4 dents on the vehicles door. I contacted the sales person and told him of these problems, and was told to bring the vehicle back for them to resolve the issues. I took the vehicle back to the dealer, and even went on a drive with one of the workshop staff, who said that the shaking of the steering was the control arms that needed to be replaced, and the gearbox would be reset. The sales person also confirmed he would have the dents taken out the door. After collecting the X5 again, I noticed that the shaking of the steering was still present, and the gearbox still felt the same, and the dents where still on the car door. I contacted the sales person, who told me that the guy they use to remove dents no longer does it on the premises, and he would need to take the car in. The workshop informed me that they had replaced the control arms, and would need the vehicle again to reset the gearbox, as they needed new software to reset the gearbox. A day or two later, while driving the vehicle, it lost control, and I hit a curb causing damage to the front rims, and steering. I later found out that the accident was caused by the left control arm, (that had been replace only 2 days prior) coming lose and causing the car to lose control. Thank goodness I was not driving fast or on the freeway and thank God I did not have my 4-year-old daughter in the car with me. The vehicle was collected from my home on a low bed, and sent to Leo Haese in centurion. I was given a loan car, and told the vehicle would be repaired. I once again asked the sales person to have the dents removed while the vehicle was there, and also the gearbox seen to. A week later, when I collected the vehicle I noticed that the dents had not yet been removed, and had to wait for the tires to be exchanged from my old X5 to the new one. I had arranged this with the sales person when I bought the new X5, and had just put new tires on my old X5. Once again after getting home with the vehicle I noticed that the damaged front rims had been repaired, but where full of scratch marks from the tire changing. The vehicle was now pulling to the left, and there was a wining noise, which sounded like a wheel bearing. I contacted the sales person, who asked me to bring in the vehicle and have a look. I again took the vehicle back, and was told to go see the guy they use to change the tire and show him the damage. I refuse, and told dealer principal about the problems and told them to sort out the dents, scratched mags, gearbox and steering vibration. I was given a lone car and told it will all be done. The work shop told me that they would be replacing the front disk to cure the steering shake, and a BMW representative would be coming to inspect the gear box problem, they would also look at the wheel bearings. When I collected my BMW again, I noticed that the front rim scratch marks had been touched up with what looked like a paintbrush. I even got the dealer principal to come see the pathetic repair to the scratched rims. The workshop had replaced the front disks, and had informed me the gearbox needed to be replaced, but they needed to order one from Germany, and they had replaced one wheel bearing. The dents had still not been removed. The dealer principal asked me to bring the car back and they would sort all the problems out and get me a loan car. My new vehicle, which I was already paying for, had spent approximately 90% of the first month I owned it at BMW Centurion. I again I left my BMW x5 at Leo Haese to get the dents removed, the initial vibration sorted, the mags repaired, and now the vehicle was also pulling to the left. While my BMW was being repaired I had a loan car from Leo Haese, and was contacted the following day to say they needed the loan vehicle back via a voice mail on my cell phone. I contacted Leo Haese and informed them that I could have the loan vehicle at there premises at 7am if they had a replacement loan vehicle for me, as I had a 830 appointment at the Engen garage on the R21 to meet with the editor of top bike magazine, to do a test on a new motorcycle for them, which I do in my spare time. I was not contacted by Leo Haese about returning the loan vehicle, and met with the editor and left the loan vehicle at the Engen garage with all my personal belongings, cell phone, wallet, clothing ect, while we went testing bikes.
