Complaint about Advanced Pain Relief and Wellness Center ADVANCED PAIN RELIEF AND WELLNESS CENTER 2828 S. Arlington Road Akron, Ohio 44312 330-896-8500 When I started going there they said they filed with my insurance and = said I was to pay a copay. Then they told me I owed $469.59. From copay = to this is a pretty good jump. I told them I have supplemental = insurance(Aflac) which would pay for part of my bill. I gave the lady = who files insurance papers some Aflac information and a contact at Aflac = if she had any questions. I asked her for a simple statement dates of = visit and area treated so I could submit this to my Aflac and she told = me she would get it for me. A few months later, I received another bill = and called them. The lady who was to give me a statement had a stroke = and they could not find the information I gave her. I asked for = statement again at least 2 times to no avail. The new person said she = would talk to the Manager. Now they say they will not give me anything = until I pay the balance in full. I have not seen anything from them = detailing what I supposedly owe or what my insurance paid. After = speaking with them again Dr. Ungar sent me a letter saying he told his = staff not to speak with me and all further correspondence is to be in = writing. I suspect they may have lost my records and I will never get a = statement from them. If they expect me to pay this bill it is reasonable that I should be = able to see what it is I am paying for and I need a detailed statement = suitable for an Aflac claim. One detailed statement would accomplish = this. I would submit the statement to my insurance and pay Advanced Pain = what ever I owe them.=20 Note:I have a bill here from Gandee Chiropractic Life Center at the same = address. Dr. Gandee was my Dr. and they would not let me speak to = him.??? I filed a complaint with the Akron area BBB and Dr. Kieth Ungar = responded to the complaint with several outright lies.=20 He said that they tild me I could come and see my records. That's not = true. They never offered. Mr. Ungar told me I would get nothing until I = paid in full. Yeah, pay a bill with a total and that's all!! I can't see = what I am paying for!! He said I contacted them dozens of times requesting the same = information. This is not true. I followed up on my request for records = that they were supposedly going to get for me 3 or 4 times in 9 or 10 = months. They never did anything and then told me their policy was not to = give and statements or records until everything is paid in full. Then I = contacted them about 5 or 6 times trying to come to an agreement on = this. They would tell me we'll have to talk with someone and they will = let me know. Usually I had to call them back for an answer. Mr. Ungar told me they lost 60 thousand dollars from clients. Maybe they = should take a look at keeping people aware of the amount of debt they = are aquiring when they think insurance is taking care of it. If you go = to these people for treatment they will keep you coming back every day. = But they don't tell you are running up a bill. A bill you have to pay = before you can see!! Great setup. Maybe that's why people are not paying them. Very poor = business practices. Thank you for your time.
