My complaint goes back to October 2006 when I purchase a round trip ticket on Air Canada for travel on November 1 to 6, 2006 from LaGuardia Airport to Winnipeg, Canada. I decided to treat myself so I purchased business class tickets for $2737. The flight to Winnipeg was without incident. But my problem was on the day I was to return home on November 6th. I arrived at the airport in Winnipeg and went to the counter for Air Canada. The gentleman there told me that "someone" changed my flight from Air Canada to United due to the fact that there was a two hour delay on my original flight. This gentleman told me I had to go over to the United counter to check in. At that counter I told the woman there that I had business class tickets on Air Canada and she told me, "there is no business class on this flight, you'll have to request it when you arrive in Chicago". I was a bit annoyed but thought that I would be getting a refund for this flight. But to my surprise, when I arrived

in Chicago, I wasn't allowed in the United business class lounge because I had economy class on my ticket. When I got to my gate for the connecting flight, I asked the agent there if I can get a seat in business class. He took one look at me and said, " business class is full and besides your ticket is for economy class". I told him, "but I paid for business class" and he just ignored me. Now I was very irate about this whole flight. I was looking forward to a nice dinner in business class, but instead all I got was a bag of pretzels for the flight home! Once home though, I contacted Air Canada via email and they told me that the fare that I paid for business class was a discounted price and was equivalent to the economy class that I was flying. HOW CAN THAT BE???? If I wanted to fly economy, I would have paid the $288 for the one way trip for the flight back home. So after complaining about this, Air Canada would only take off $200 from my round trip fare. So basically, I

paid $1100 for a one way economy class flight. ARE THEY CRAZY! There's no way I'm paying that. And today June 15, I received a bill from Air Canada, because when I complained to my credit card company, they gave me back the credit for the full fare. So Air Canada never got paid and now that the ball is in my court, they are making threats of getting a third party after me to collect this fare. I told them I will not pay the $1100 for the economy class fare, but I would pay the $288 that I would have paid had I chosen to fly in economy class and also pay for the one way fare in business class for the first flight to Winnipeg. But AC didn't want to hear it. OH WELL!
