I lost my citibank credit card and was told there were no charges. About 3=
months later I got a bill in the mail for $250 and a threat that I better =
pay -- this was the first time I heard about anything (I had not activated =
my new Citicard). I called that night and it turns out there was a legitim=
ate charge on the card that they had not told me about for $100, the balanc=
e was fees. I was assured that these would be waived as long as I paid the=
$100 which I did immediately.
3 months go by and I receive a letter from a collection agency. The bogus =
charges were not credited and I call resolution department and they say fax=
a letter to say what happened -- I do this. After 2 weeks I call the disp=
ute department and am informed that they have made there decision and I owe=
the money, 'Christina' then chastises me for interrupting her. She is her=
own manager so don't bother asking to talk to anyone. No she can't connec=
t me to anyone who can help. Pay up is the message conveyed in an incredib=
le rude way.
I see no alternative but to pay as they have my credit history as hostage a=
nd refuse to discuss it. Hopefully my feedback will cause you to think twi=
ce before using citibank. I will never use them for anything again
