British Airways / Didn't adhere to their own written ticket exchange policy

Company: British Airways / Didn't adhere to their own written ticket exchange policy
Category: Other
I purchased two BA tickets from San Francisco to Tel Aviv (with a stop
in London) on BA's web site. The itinerary I printed from the site
listed our flight time as 20:50. I wrongly converted the universal time
to 10:50 pm PT instead of 8:50 pm PT. I realized my mistake at the SFO
BA ticket counter around 8:20 pm. They didn't let us on the flight
(fine) but they also wouldn't book us tickets on a later day without
charging us full price for two new tickets again. The policy I read
online before purchasing the tickets stated that I could change the
tickets for $200 per ticket before the flight left, however, the BA
ticket agent in the SFO Airport did not honor this policy. She wanted
to charge me for two brand new tickets. Since all the BA flights from
London to Tel Aviv were booked for the next several days anyway, I
couldn't even purchase new tickets from BA to get to Tel Aviv. I ended
up buying two Delta tickets to get to Tel Aviv. I requested a refund
from BA and they declined to refund my money. I sent them another
letter requesting a refund and they have not acknowledged it yet (going
on 4 weeks).
