E fax "free" 30 day trial

E fax "free" 30 day trial I had a need for fax service and decided to sign up to try E Fax. They offered a free 30 day trial in order to try the service. The same day of my account being established I started receiving spam type faxes from different companies. It felt like to much of a coincidence that all these spammers were able to lock into this new number so quickly after it being established by E Fax. At the end of the trial I decided that I was churning through to much of the spam to get my 3 faxes that were sent to me I expected and asked to cancel the account. Two or three days later, I received my credit card bill, and found 5 $10 charges from E Fax on it. When I called the billing function of E Fax, I was informed that the "free" 30 day trial include receiving up to 130 inbound fax pages, and after that the charges were .15 per page. I went back and looked at the agreement and it is stated in the agreement. There was nothing that they could do for me, they had no way of knowing what I considered legitimate faxes. I just feel that I was totally mislead on this offer. I had given my fax number to 1 person, who sent me 9 pages of faxes. It is awful convenient that within hours of my fax number going live, I started receiving 2-9 pages of spam faxes from companies. What a good gig for E Fax. Did my number get sold in a listing to spammers? Nice little revenue stream there, and of course the more inbound faxes the better, since after 130 they can start charging .15 per fax. My free offer is now going to cost $50. Although the fees are stated in the offer, I feel that I have been dealing with a company that purposefully and knowingly created this offer to generate revenue without concern about their integrity. I am posting this in the hope that others will research E Fax before signing up and not get caught in the same trap that was laid for me. I even used their chat service which is useless to end before and they said I had to wait until the billing cycle was completed - nothing is FREE and I have to pay almost 18.00 dollars for a service I never used on www.efax.com.
