Champion Windows

Champion Windows Recently I unfortunately purchased some windows from Champion Windows out of Albany, NY. My wife and I stopped by their showroom (very impressive) and spoke with a representative who took us through a series of testing booths & demonstrations. The presentation was quite impressive, showing how their window incorporated special glass and frame structures that really seemed superior to everything else that we had seen. They had chilling mist containers, and UV testers that compared their product against the competitors. I went home that night with my wife and discussed how good the product was. Well the next day, they sent out a nice young man who measured the windows, and gave us a staggering price. I felt like a fool by signing the contract, but the windows seemed so good! That Saturday, I was reading the paper and out comes a flyer offering 1/3 off the price that I was quoted. I was shocked, but chalked it up to experience, and vowed to my wife that I'd never recommend Champion to anybody else where I work, or our friends. Just for kicks, I had another company come out and take a look at the project and they suggested that we contact the NYS Attorney's General Office regarding price gouging. I bought on impulse. My suggestion is to always get a few quotes, rather than from someone who "seemed" trustworthy. After all, they said they were the biggest window manufacturer in the country. What really irked me was how I didn't recognize that I could have canceled the order in (3) days if I wanted to. Nobody told me that. But,... a lesson learned -- Faster loans with less paperwork. Yes the price was staggering, but I have to say I liked the channel in the windows and it does keep the drafts out I looked at similar vinyl windows by Anderson and Accu-weld and they did not have this feature. The windows are insulated and have the argon low E glass they are also tinted so they save on the UV fading of furniture and rugs. I was extremely pleased with the sales people the owner and expecially the installers. The only problem I had was one of the doors was the right color but wrong style however it was the more expensive one.... no extra charge. The installers I can't say enough about FANTASTIC! Would I do business with Champion of Plainview LI NY again? What does your energy consumption look like now verses before the installation. Have you had any issues with quality of the product. You seem upset that you bought what is a high quality window and then validate your opinion by seeking advice from a competitor who is naturally going to create drama and strengthen your belief that you paid to much. I would like to read less about how you made a mistake by buying the product and more about why it was a mistake. You bought before a sale, that happens in every type of purchase, TVs cars etc... So what is your complaint really, this is why these sites are ineffective because they allow damaging opinions to be voiced to the world that contain nothing that is really useful other than drama and painting the consumer as a victim. So be a man or good person and name yourself, let people know who you are so we know you are not a competitor, put some kind of fact in your complaint and talk about something other than some crap about paying to much when we all know nothing cheap is ever good and nothing good is ever cheap. What is your beef about the product and be truthful not drama offer advice on the real issue and help people out verses this crap above From: Message Author (click here to email author) (has asked not to receive email)Date: Wednesday, 15-Oct-08 08:08:46 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
