Best Buy store on S. Virginia st. (on corner of Mccarran & S. Virginia)


On June 22nd, 2007, my husband bought a gift card for $50.00 for a =

family member. I asked him to return it and get a $30.00 gift card. When =

he went back in to the store on June 27th, the cashier told him there =

wasn't any money on the card. After making a report in the store, he was =

told that the replacement card would be sent to our home within 48 =

hours. It was never received, so by July 3rd my husband called the =

customer service number and has been told that it has been sent to the =

fraud dept., but that no card would be sent. Then he was told that the =

address that the online purchase was sent to was an 89431 zip code, =

which I found was in Sparks, NV. At this point, we are being told that =

there will be no replacement of either the card or the money until =

further investigation. My husband asked for the address of the recipient =

or if the item could be either canceled or rerouted to our address since =

basically what we are being told is that we may be the theives. The =

customer service rep. would not do that because she said that she had no =

way of knowing if it was us who took the card or not. MY husband offered =

to go into the store with our receipt AND the card and have the store =

manager call her to verify we have both. She refused to help us. We were =

told that we would have to make a police report in the city where the =

shipment was going to be received. So even though there were reports all =

over our news here in Reno back at Christmas time of people just walking =

into stores and copying the numbers off the back of the gift cards and =

going online every day to check to see how much money may be on them and =

ordering something right away before the person has a clue what has =

happened, this customer service person AND the cashier at the store both =

said they have never seen that happen in their store. SO now we're =

responsible for firguring out how to get our money back.
