To whom it may concern,

I have a complaint that I would like the whole world to hear about. I

received a letter in the mail from my countys' child support office this week

claiming that I owe my sons father $588.00 in back child support. I have never been

ordered to pay child support, I have custody of the child due to the fact that

we were not married. I called my agency and asked them what the problem was.

I was informed that I owed over $8,000.00 in back pay.

And that I could be arrested. Back in 2002 my childs father signed up to get

public assistance, and put that he was the residential parent of my son. I

got sued for child support. We went to court and the judge ruled that the

agency had no right to sue me due to the fact that I had custody of the child.

And ordered that no support be established and that the case was dismissed.

Someone at the child support agency did not do their job and I have been charged

with support since 2002. I am appauled and outraged about this. I want

something done about this. I have written to the main office in Columbus about the

matter and no response has been written back to me. There are so many of my

friends that have raised their children, alone and their ex's owe them

thousands upon thousands of dollars, and nothing is done about it. But, they were

going to put me in jail. Who do I contact about this matter to get something

done. I can not believe this happened to me. Is anyone paying attention to

their jobs anymore?..

Thank You for letting me vent...and if anyone else has had this problem,

please contact me and maybe if there is more than one person who is the

victim...we can get something done about this.

I have a case worker in pike county that refuses to collect child suport from my exwife she only pays 50.00 per month for 2 kids but still won,t pay all he does is tell me what i wants to here and tells her what she wants to here I thought enforcement meant the make sure the kids get there money but greg chattin does not do his job that is the bottom line if a man wouldn't have paid they would already been in jail

Sadly Pike county Ohio child support and judicial system is a joke. Its run by a bunch of corrupt politicians. You need to make your voice heard I suggest you write a letter to the editor in the waverly news watchman. As well as do some research on line and file in the common pleas court to enforce there original order. There are many websites with the ohio enforcement laws in detail just do a google search. You will only have to pay a filing fee ,you can represent yourself in the matter just make sure you do your research and have all your documentation with you to inform the judge. You may also get a free consultation from a local attorney ,however I wouldn't suggest retaining one from the area as I have first hand experience and I believe they are all tied in with the corrupt politicians and will sell out if its there turn.

This is a common problem with Pike county and you are not alone, if all of us women would start writing letters the community would hear us and take a good look at how these elected officials are treating women. We are trying to raise are children without public assistance but Pike County will not enforce child support orders against deadbeat dads or dads that are very capable of paying but dont.

You stated your childs father signed that he was residential parent , Thats fraudlent and he can be put in jail for it, thats a federal document. One other thing if you go back in front of the judge make sure that he zero's out all arreages that they have against you. Get copies of the judgment before you leave do not trust anyone to mail them to you..

I feel so sorry for you. This all must be so aggravating. I have heard so many bad stories about the Pike County CSEA. My boyfriend already had child support established through another county. He had to file for divorce in Pike County because of his residence. The divorce papers called to adopt the child support order from the other county and leave it alone. As soon as the divorce was final Pike County CSEA filed to have the child support moved to their county and it has been a fight every since. They had no business sticking their nose in it. If they would take care of their own cases such as yours and leave the other cases alone that are already being handled then perhaps they would do a better job. Best of luck to you on your case! It looks like we are going to have to obtain a lawyer because the case worker there is IMPOSSIBLE to deal with. Best wishes.
