I purchased a maytag neptune several years ago. I have had nothing but

problems. When the repair man came to repair it he said I had just missed

the time frame for the lawsuit against Maytag. Well infact I had not.But by

the time I found this out, then it was to late. I had always wanted a

Maytag because of the dependability, but I will never buy another one. They

had to replace the motor in it last year. Thank goodness it was still under

warranty. Now the door lock will not work, so therefore it cannot spin. I am

not sure if it is worth the salvage or not. Problem is right now I cannot

afford to go out and purchase another washer and dryer.

I have a Maytag Neptune TL, what a joke. I have had it about 3-1/3 years now and the computer board went out. I am still waiting for the part, even after Maytag said they would help me to get it sooner. It will be the last time for a Maytag. The repair man is not lonely because they are so good, it's because people are getting smart about buying them.

I did think to buy the extended warranty, otherwise I'd really be wringed.

Was there a recall, and how was it announced to the public? I usually get a recall notice if something I buy goes bad, but not this time. Maytag said no recall on this model. Any info on it?
