Circuit City/ Purchasing process & FireDog Rebate Services

Circuit City/ Purchasing process & FireDog Rebate Services I recently purchased a laptop computer from Circuit City that was supposed to cost $650 after rebates it was an excellent deal for the amount of hard drive space and memory and associated features on the laptop. After compiling the total price with additional software, Firedog optimization and rebate services and a free printer - my grand total out of pocket was over $1,700. I was offered an interest free credit offer if I applied for a new credit card which I accepted. When they started the application they found that we had purchased items in the past at Circuit City and both my name and my husband name were on file. They proceeded to start a new credit application for me and my computer purchase. Everything appeared to be going well and I was to come pick up my new computer 3 days later. When I returned I found my entire new computer, all receipts and rebates set up in my husband's name. My husband was not even present when I selected the computer, filed a new credit application or anything. When I requested that the store correct this error - I had to stand around for approximately 2 hours with two young children to have the computer reset and the receipts and rebates corrected. Supposedly everything was fixed - it wasn't my husband's name is still throughout the setup of the computer (and it is spelled wrong - that should have been the biggest clue that they were incompetent). I have received two letters from the Circuit City rebate system indicating that my receipts have the wrong date and can't be processed and the first such letter took me 1.5 hours on the phone to have them correct and issue me my rebate. Supposedly if you pay Circuit City to complete your rebates you will have everything done correctly and won't have to worry about anything. THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT TRUE!!! Circuit City needs to step up and take care of the customer that is standing in front of them, not some antiquated ideal of a world were only men make decisions and spend money. I still have a second rebate letter to waste more of my valuable time on getting straight even though I paid the FireDog service on rebates - don't even waste your money on that service - it is not even half baked. A computer that is set up correctly with my name on it everywhere without misspelled versions of my husband's name floating around on it and all my rebates returned promptly and to my name would be great. I haven't even tried to check yet to see if my software was registered incorrectly yet.......WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!
