UAL up to the same old tricks Hi, Below is what I have just fired off to UAL. 19 July 2007 An open letter to Executive Resolutions United Airlines, I will be filing a complaint with the FAA and Better Business Bureau as well as logging your actions on internet Blog and Podcast sites. You canceled Flight 281, 12 hours prior to my leaving and after I had my boarding passes in hand. Several of your agents could not offer me a reason for the cancellation. I specifically paid more money for this flight based on, · the convenience of the flight times, · short length of the flights, · number of stops/length of layover, · my ability to get to the airport, · the availability of first class upgrades on all legs and, · commitments once I arrived at my final destination. FYI - when I purchased this ticket, cheaper flights similar to the schedule you "stuck" me with were available on other airlines. Your agents: · Could not tell me why the flights were canceled, doesn't the Contract to Carry require this? · Your agent, Mr. Edmond Ventura lied to me when he told me that I would definitely be assigned a first class upgrade at the Dulles airport on the re-ticketed flight he arranged. There was no miscommunication as I pointedly asked him to verify his statement, which he did. · Due to your schedule changes I was unable to take a bus to the airport. Hence I will have to drive and now spend $12.00/day parking from 20-31 July. The bus ticket was cheaper than the gas driving and the parking at the bus station free. · I was hung up on several times by your customer relation’s voicemail. You know, the one your website claims is available to the customer from 0800hrs-1900hrs M-F. I never got through to a live person. · Your agents refused to divulge a number for the Executive Resolutions desk. Considering your inability to follow through on what you sold me and that I paid full fare for, the hassle you are making me go through and my additional financial costs in money and time, I require a more than a reasonable refund of my ticket price. And not in worthless vouchers, I paid cash, I expect cash back. You should be ashamed of yourself, to think that I served my country in the military so that disreputable businesses and thieves like your company can profit off the backs of the working families. In conclusion, I am very suspect about your cancellation of Flight 281 and will be filing a report with the FAA. Paul Carreiro
