*Dear Sirs,*

**

* I would like herein to attract your attention to the

unpleasant incident happened to me during traveling with your company from

Paris to Dubai, on board AF 530 on 14th of July which left Paris at 23:30pm

with duration of 6 and a half hours.*

**

* After spending good times in Paris for two weeks, and being

very tired I was hoping that the flight back home will be comfortable and I

would have a nice sleep before arriving to Dubai where I have to wait for

two hours to get another flight to Muscat my last destination ..but my hopes

were too high it seems, because when I arrive to my seat No. 28J in the

Economy Class, and even before I set down the lady sitting in the middle

seat asked me if I can exchange the seat with her husband who was sitting

just in front of me. Since I am alone, I agreed as long as he has an ile

seat, which I make sure in all my traveling to have an ile seat to be able

to move during the flight as I suffer from hypertension. When I put my

luggage in the upper cupboard, an old man, Ramo Delatorrepeters ( I have his

boarding pass), came and asked me if I exchange seats with him, I asked

why, he said he wants to sit next to his grandchildren in the economy class,

and he will exchange my seat with his seat in the business class .. I said

we have to check with the hostesse first because it is the business class,

so he asked the hostesse and she said Ok...I moved and he helped me to carry

my luggage, I asked for his boarding pass and I gave him mine. Now here

comes the worth part, I set down on my seat I felt as the seat is not

strait up, it is leaning a bit towards front, but since the departure

started, so I did not push the seat back, then comes dinner so I didn't

change the seat till after dinner, when I wanted to relax, I couldn't move

it , so I asked the hostesse, she said in one sentence : "this seat is

broken, Madame, and the gentleman who was sitting here originally knew about

it "... I was shocked !!!! asif my heart stopped for a while ...so I called

again the steward, he was Francois Calleja, and I told him the problem ...

he said : "well it is not our fault you agree to take the seat . I said: "I

was nice to that old man he wanted to sit next to his grandchildren, he lies

and gave me his broken seat "... at the beginning Francois did not know what

to do, he was reluctant to help me, but I told him I want the Captain to do

something since he is in charge of this aircraft ...Francois talked to the

Captain who arrange for me another seat in the Economy but a middle seat, I

told Francois you should wake the man and I will take my original seat

..Francois was very nice and helpful but he said he cannot wake the man now

since it was already 02:00am, and he is not suppose to make any noise..I

was very angry, but I thought I don't want to cause troubles for anybody, so

I stand up and was on my feet most of the flight time, because even

sitting on that seat was not comfortable ... around 05:00am, I was standing

next to the kitchen, very sad very tired and very nervous, the chieftain of

the hostesse Catherine Malherbe came to me and told me nicely that she knew

what happened and she will do a rapport about that incident, at that time, I

couldn't hold it anymore, I had nervous breakdown and I start crying ... I

told her that I don't care anymore about the broken seat, but I care about

my pride, and this old crook lies to me because I was so nice to give him my

seat to be with his grandchildren ..Catherine was very nice and she said she

will investigate about the matter ..I said whatever you do, it won't help me

anymore, I was cheated by this guy and no one could help me during the

flight, and it is originally the fault of the Air France who gave a broken

seat to a passenger ... After Catherine investigated about it, she told

me the long story of that family and I am sure you already know about it

from Catherine's rapport, that only the lady of this big family knew the

seat is broken and no one else ...but the lady was the one who gave me the

boarding pass and she knew that I am going to sit there ...so even with

the appreciated help of Catherine and Francois, nothing was done. *

* Maybe you are thinking now what a long story I have wrote, but I

meant to mention every details, so you will know and admit that was the

worth flight ever could happened to a 52 years old lady who tried to be nice

to other people ... *

* *

* It is the fault of your company from the beginning:*

* -- you knew about the broken seat in Paris according to the hostesse so

you should have repair it before take off*

* -- you shouldn't give it to a passenger especialy it was a long flight not

a short one*

* -- if you were trying to make money from a broken seat, be sure you lost

one passenger for life.*

* The damage was done, and even if you take my letter into

consideration, there is no going back now and the harm was huge.*
