Bait and switch promo rates by Chase <html><div style='background-color:'><DIV class=RTE>Don't fall for the bait and switch promo rates by Chase. </DIV> <DIV class=RTE> </DIV> <DIV class=RTE> I've been a long time loyal customer of Chase 18 years. My husband decided to use one of my unsolicited low promo rate checks at 4.99% Chase offered. Today, we just received one of those non-descript, tri-fold letters, used for mass mailing. It wasn't even in an envelope. The letter stated changes on our account. Of course, with no acct numbers to let us know which account. I was ready to throw it away. Junk mail. I decided to open it and read it. <STRONG> An increase of our APR to a whopping 32.24%!</STRONG> I would not have believed it, if I had not read it. I had to call to make sure. Yes, everything was correct and my only option was to maintain my rates was to write an Opt Out letter. Therefore, maintaining the rates and closing the account to any purchases etc...Ouch. On the amount we owe. $6,722 that would be $2,167 a year to finance the interest alone. Don't fall for those wonderful low promo rates. Even if my promo rates was ending. Which the customer service rep did not tell me if it was. ( I think he was worried I ws going to blow up on him. Like any other normal person would. BTW, I didn't) That is highway robbery. That just bites. I can see why so many people are doing so badly financially. If it looks too good to be true. It probably is. Oh, and don't forget to read those letters from your credit card companies that look like junk mass mail. Those "Important change of terms notice". You might be quite surprised how important they are.</DIV></div><br clear=all><hr> <a href="http://g.msn.com/8HMBENUS/2737??PS=47575" target="_top">Local listings, incredible imagery, and driving directions - all in one place!</a> </html> From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Friday, 13-Jul-07 22:12:29 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
