Complaint against South Chicago Nissan on 7410 S. Western, Chicago, Illinois 60636 South Chicago Nisan, 7410 S. Western, Chicago, Illinois 60636 July 11, 2007
The following information is an admonishment for anyone who is thinking of doing business with South Chicago Nissan. In April 2007, I purchased a vehicle from South Chicago Nissan. The transaction took too long as the salesperson was bent on selling me a car that I did not want. When I informed the salesperson that I would leave without purchasing if they did not give me information about the car of my choice, he yielded. Before completing the sale, I noticed a few things wrong with the vehicle. I addressed my concerns with the salesperson and a finance manager. Together, the salesperson and the finance manager wrote a repair contract called a "We Owe." I left the dealership with the vehicle of my choice in April without knowing that I would be posting information about the dealership in July. Several weeks after purchasing the vehicle, I called South Chicago Nissan regarding the repairs they promised on their "We Owe." I was told that I needed to make an appointment for the repairs. I spoke with a person named Mike in the service department and made an appointment for the repairs. I called before the appointment date to make sure my parts had arrived. I was told to call "parts." When I spoke with "parts", they told me that there were no parts for my vehicle. I asked why my parts had not been ordered and I was told by "parts" that my salesperson did not order the parts needed to fix my car. I called back to speak to my salesperson, J. R. When I told J. R. that I had just been told by a man in "parts" that sales did not order my parts, J. R. told me that the sales department does not order parts but that service orders parts. This went on for a few more weeks. In June, I spoke with a manager named Antoinetta. I explained the problem I was having with getting parts ordered for repairs as detailed on South Chicago Nissan's "We Owe." Antoinetta offered to "help" me. Antoinetta told me to take my car to a local dealership and have them to do a write up on the total cost of repairs. The total cost of repairs to my vehicle is $498.82. The service manager of my local Nissan dealer faxed the repair information to Antoinetta's attention. I never heard anything else from Antoinetta. Today, July 11, 2007, I called the service manager at my local dealer, Hove Nissan. I asked him if he had been in touch with Antoinetta regarding the check for repairs to my car. The local service manager told me that he spoke with Antoinetta, about seven days ago, and that, to his surprise, she told him that $498.82 was too much money for South Chicago Nissan to pay to Hove Nissan. At that time, Antoinetta then told the service manager at Hove Nissan that she would call me to inform me that South Chicago Nissan thinks that $498.82 is too much money to pay. I never received a call. Today, July 11, 2007, I called South Chicago Nissan to speak with Antoinetta. She was not available. I asked to speak with a manager. I explained the situation to a manager named Edwin. Edwin told me that I needed to speak with Antoinetta and that she was not in the office today. I asked Edwin to speak with the service manager at Hove Nissan regarding the repairs and Edwin refused to help me. After having first told me that I needed to speak to Antoinetta, Edwin then told me that I needed to speak with service. I informed Edwin that I have talked with service, parts, and my salesperson to a fault. I told Edwin that I wanted South Chicago Nissan to honor their "We Owe" and that $498.82 is not a lot of money for a dealership, especially when it is for repairs that the dealer promised to make. Edwin refused to help me so I became indignant and informed Edwin that I would contact Nissan Corporation and the Federal Trade Commission regarding South Chicago Nissan's flagrant lack of willingness to help solve my problem. Edwin told me "call whoever you want" and hung up on me. I called back. I asked Edwin if he had hung up on me and he confirmed my suspicion. I got angry again and asked him to connect me to the person I needed to speak with and he hung up on me again. Later, that day, I called the service manager at Hove Nissan in Bourbonnais to inform him that I was unable to get any answer regarding the repairs and that I would make a final attempt to speak with Antoinetta on Thursday. Frankly, I do not want to speak with anyone from South Chicago Nissan ever again in life but I am going to give South Chicago Nissan one last chance to fix this problem Thursday, July 12, 2007.
