911 hang up
|
911 hang up I thought that 911 was suppose to be helpful no matter what. Well, I was wrong! On Saturday, June 30, 2007 there was a very loud party on the street where I live. I pulled up in the colder sack where I live and to my surprise there was a party going on at a neighbors home. It was approximately 9:30 PM. I could not pull into the driveway because all of my neighbors guests were double, triple, and quadruple parked. They were blocking not only the driveway that I needed to get in, but also other neighbors driveways, and cars. One young lady was removing something from her vehicle and I asked her could she pleas move so that I may get into the driveway. She backed up and let me in and pulled back into the space. I went inside and called 911 to complain about the noise and the parking situation. First, 911 rang and went to a voice mail. I hung up and called again. This time a operator answered. I began to explain the situation to the operator who in turn said to me in a very nasty tone, " Miss, that is a 311 problem the police won't even come out for that!" As I began to say something else the 911 operator hung up on me. I really feel that the operator needs to be reprimanded about his non caring behavior and that the police should have come out to see the amount of cars blocking the neighbors in, and to hear the noise that the city has now claimed that there will be something done about noisy neighborhoods. I do understand that 911 is for emergencies, but in the same token the operators should be trained on how to speak to people that are at a lost for what to do in certain situations.
Not knowing what to do!
