Canon sp800/ Circuit City

I'm sure you've seen this before. Purchased above camera at Circuit City store in Danbury, CT. Opened the package found camera was defective. Took it back and they had no replacement available for 4-6 weeks. Tried to get my money back and they charged me the usual 15% restocking fee. Do they really restock damaged merchandise? How does one know the product is no good until you open the box?

This company runs a scam guarantee program to discourage returns of damaged goods. Its is totally arbitrary and against Public Policy. Will never shop there again and advise everyone I know to stay away.
