Still disappointed at the way SAA is handling the issue of the missing back pack (inside my suitcase) on flight SA205 which arrived Sao Paulo on Jan 3rd 2007.
Just to note that I am currently with a cast on my left ankle and have been made to make back and forth phone calls at my expense to the SAA office at the GRU International airport and then transport my self to the airport (admist the discomfort involved with not being able to walk!)
After about 45mins of back and forth I was given a voucher to a repair company to take my torn box to (I also have to incur the cost of returning to my hotel and taking the box to the repair company and picking it up!!!....how inconveniencing!!)
They checked the weight of the luggage as at check-in and when it was returned to me and they found that something was indeed missing however because it was not exactly1kg, SAA will not pay for it.(of course an empty backpack is not up to 1kg inside a suitcase!!)
I FIND THIS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I want a backpack returned to me because one as removed from my luggage while it was in the CARE AND RESPONSIBILITY OF SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS!
