I have been using a dozen or so credit cards over the past 36 years without any problems until a recent incident with Chase Bank when I noticed a very small charge of two dollars and change I didn't recognize. When I inquired about the charge Chase informed me it was not their charge, which I thought might be some sort of fee. I also called Citibank because their name appeared as the merchant; but they claimed it was not their fee either. In fact Citibank reversed the payment of the small charge. My next statement from Chase showed a late fee, interest and other charges totalling over $50 because the $2 charge was overdue. When I tried to have some of these fees taken off, Chase employees refused to do so by even a nickel, despite the fact that, prior to this incident, I always paid in full early. In fact, I was not even offered an apology. I cancelled my card and heard nothing further from Chase until somebody called to ask me to apply for another Chase card! I've since told everyone I know about how I was treated; and no one plans to deal with Chase.
