Awful experience at Sam's Club ( Garland, Texas and store number is 4783) I am writing this letter to complain a bad service received from Sam’s Club store #4783. It is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. In the afternoon of January 7, 2007 (Sunday), I went to the Garland, Texas Sam’s Club to do shopping.
I went to the food section and was going to buy some fruits for next week. There were cherries packaged in plastic boxes and I tried one cherry. Then the Sam’s Club associate named Margaret said to me in a very sarcastic way: “You can not stand in that line eating cherries like this for the whole day!” I explained to her: “I tried one cherry and I am going to buy some.” Then she kept saying: “You can not stand in line eating cherries for a whole day!” I felt offended and then another associate standing with Margaret in the seafood section came and told me: “Her husband got sick by tasting food like this.” (Apparently the other associate did not think Margaret what Margaret did was right and she was trying to comfort me). However Margaret kept saying” Some people just eat cherries like this for a whole day” And at that time I was the only customer standing there.
After a minute or so, another female customer came by me standing in front of the Cherry section, Margaret came over and began to pile some cherry boxes and told the female customer that I was there eating cherries for a whole day, while I was standing next to her.
I told Margaret that she need to apologize to me and she refused to.
So I told her that I was going to talk to the store manager and I would need her name. She showed me her name tag and said to me: You can just go ahead talking to the manager and I do not need to apologize to you.
I found the store manager Russell and after he talked to Margaret, here is what happened:
He told me that it is not right for me to try the cherry and Margaret does not think she need to apologize to me.
I told him that I need an apology from Margaret and an explanation from the store since one of the associated in the club insulted me in public area.
However the store manager said that what he told me is the explanation from the store and he will take care the associate. As to how he is going to take care the associate for what she did to the customer is none of my business.
Also he told me to leave the store in 5 seconds since he thinks that I raised my voice.
I told him that I am a member of the club and I will wait till my husband comes in.
I asked him if I can contact his boss or anyone else to file the complain. He told me that he is the highest one I can get today. Then I asked him if there is any 800 number I can call to file the complain. Then the manager pointed to one of the walls in the club and told me to find the number on that wall myself.
So this experience is awful and both the associate from the Sam’s Club and the store manager from the club insulted me and did not apologize even though I requested to.
The associate has no right to accuse customers by yelling in the public area: “You can not stand in line eating cherries like this for the whole day” again and again.
The store manager has no right to ask a customer to leave the club in 5 SECONDS.
No customers pay $40 a year for a membership to deserve insults and this kind of service. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Sunday, 07-Jan-07 18:17:14 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
