Bank of America and Meta Payment Systems

I was provided with an Bank of America Visa Gift Card from my employer as an award. I used part of it, but part of it was never used. I contacted Bank of America recently, they gave me the remaining balance and told me they could mail me a check as the card had expired.

Service was very poor, it took almost an hour to answer the phone, they told me I needed the exact name and address of the issuer, my employer, when I gave them the address, city, state and postcode they said they needed the suite number too to issue the check, I dont know which of the 2000 employees on our campus ordered the card but they said no refund would be issued without "exact match"...luckily I guessed right and they finally issued the check, but it seemed the whole system is to avoid payouts.

Well, a few days after I was promised a refund by the employee I instead received a letter from Meta Payment Systems. They claimed they has responsibility over Bank of America Visa giftcards now, and that at the time of purchase it would have been stated that monthly fees apply, and that now no balance would be left in the account. This completely contradicted the information of the employee on the phone, where I was told an exact current balance and promised a check would be issued.

Further, if the terms are not on the card itself (it is not) how would I as the recipient of the card be aware that the balance expires at some time, most giftcards do not have an expiry date, and it is not mentioned anyware on the card, and I didnt see the paperwork with purchase, as I am the recipient.

I think this is a real scam, a class action should be taken against these firms for these fraudulent practices, its effectively stealing money. Can you contact them for comment? Please avoid these giftcards and avoid anything to do with Meta Payment Systems and Bank of AMerica Giftcards
