My name is Susan Glidewell,my complaint against this business is that on 6/18/05 I purchased a Maytag Neptune front loading washing machine for $1300.00 along with an 10 year extended warranty and a 5 year extended warranty totaling $288.54

For approximately the 1st 14 months this machine worked perfectly.Then we began to experience problems with a lot of vibration.We called to Midway were we purchased it at and they said that they had to order a part for this machine and once it came in they would call an set up a time for their tech. to come out and service it.

This paticular machine has an option to be place on a pedastal if the consumer choose to buy it.However we chose not to purchase it.

When the tech came out and installed this part inside of our machine and washed the 1st load afterwards,it vibrated so violenty we thought the tub was trying to break out of the machine.So right away I phoned Midway back and told them that this didn't repair the problem it only intensified the problem. So they sent out tech. #2,he looked at the machine and instanly said "it is only vibrating because it needs to be placed ontop of a rubber mat. That was his conclusion and that was made with him looking visually at the machine from a distance.He said that if that doesn't help call back to Midway appliance.

So we started a load and needless to say the problem still existed. I called a Midway again and told the hasn't been fixed the machine still vibrates violently.so tech#3 comes out and he runs a load through so he can hear the vibration of the machine.Afterwardward he opens the top and says"Oh gee they install a part that shoud not have installed on this paticular machine since it was only for those which sat on a pedastal and he removed,then turn the rpms down which controls the spin dry cycle.I then proceed to wash another load and the vibation was gone which was good,however when the load finished,the clothes were soaking wet.Needless to say I call Midway appliance back to now my 1 1/2 year old washing machine is now not spin drying my clothes at all so their soaking wet when they go into the dryer.Midway appliance then sends out tech #4 and mind this is all in a one month period of time.Before he came out I placed a call to Maytag to see how many times do I have to continue this before they fiqure out the problem?Maytag told me when tech #4 arrived to have him call Maytag Tech support and have them Guide him through the repair and if it's going to a reoccuring problem then the tech just has to tell that to Maytag Tech support and they'll athorize it to be swapped out for a new Machine.

Tech #4 said it couldn't ramp up to the proper speed to start the spin dry cycle because the rpms had been adjusted to low to let the spin cycle to start.Then he reset the rpms back to where they we set to be at that's when the machine started vibrating violently again.Tech 4 then told the maytag tech support to make sure that everything was documented.When he hung up he told me that I can call Maytag and request that they swap this machine for a new one because it could not be repaired it was defected.

I dealt with Maytag all day today and they confirmed it was in fact documente that this machine was unrepairable,however it had been over a year and it is now under warranty by the 10 year extended warranty I purchased thrugh the Midway appliance Co.Now the want to send out tech #5 after Maytag told me the read what was documented regarding this machine seeing that it stated that it could not be repaired.This company refuses to honor the extended warranty we purchased through to protect us from something like this.Maytag said it no longer under their warranty and since it isnt if they decide to replace it I will have to pay a customer service fee since their warranty has expired.

Aren't their any laws for to protect the consumer against this kind of business practices.We have purchased an extended warranty for 10 years and they refuse to stand behind the warranty the sold us.
