New Home Construction:

My children and I purchased a new home over a year and a half ago in Bartow County Georgia. When purchasing the home, we were promised the world. 1 year warranty, etc. Upon moving in home, we noticed things were not working, septic was bubbling in toilets and lumber burried in yard.

I went to court house to complain to find that the contractor has his wife working in the department where you file the complaint. We now have a new home that is falling apart. Mold is growing in the basement and septic leaks. Over $20,000 in repairs. Contractor, Mike McMillain, refused to come back and repair home. I hired an attorney to run up over $14,000 in attorney fees. Now contractor says he will repair home but we are so much in debt due to the problems that I can't afford to pay back all the attorney fees to make him come back.

This is a serious issue in Bartow County with new Home owners. I was purposely attacked because I was a single woman disabled with a disease. He did not do this to others that had husbands to stand up for them. My children and I are sick daily from the smell of septic and mold and no one will help us. Attorney fees are so expensive and told just to lose our life savings and forget what this horrible man did to me and my children.

Please post my issue. This happens to so many unsuspecting women and I am not able to fight back due to my health. He has become a wealthy person by doing this to newcomers in the community and we have no organization to help us. Please help us.
