Home Depot At Home Services

Home Depot At Home Services I live in Liinois, and contracted with Home Depot to replace my roof. Part of the contract said they would replaced warped decking. Well, after a month they finally showed up with a crew that spoke no English, so I could not get them to replace the warped decking on my roof, deapite assurances it would be done. I was unable to contact the project manager as he did not work on Saturdays. I complained about the roof job and pointed out all the flaws in the roof. The project manager finally came and looked at it and said they would not do anything about the problems. After being threatened will legal action I paid for the bad roof. Home Depot did offer to redo the roof for another $6,000. (Why would they offer to redo it if it was done right the first time?) Bottom line, do not trust Home Depot at Home Services. This is sitting through a summer in FL heat with nothing but thin old underlayment as the first crew removed the concrete tiles at the start, After writing weekly to HD online, calling, cursing and finally telling them we were canceling out, lo and behold the next day a crew showed up. The problem is if you contract for installation of anything, the 'crew" is gathered from what's available on the street or subcontracted with some other inept business you are not aware of until too late. Then its dealing with them and finding exactly who is at the end of the "supervisor" list. Dont believe that they drug test their employees either, as the "site manager" came out of his truck with breath reeking of grass and smoke billowing out the windows! The workers dont understand english and the "boss" disappears leaving these poor guys with no transport or direction other than peeing off the roof and deciding what needs to be done. They drove nails into our newly installed ac unit lines and another night of heat while waiting now for the ac repair and roof tiles which were lost in transport. Now fighting with HD over a Guaridian generator which failed first hurricane and now exploding battery which somehow the extended warranty does not cover. We never even used the generator other than weekly test. No certified Generac repairmen available...which clears HD of their responsibility! I hate HomeDepot.
