Telus/Mike cell phone

Telus/Mike cell phone

I was sold a Mike cellular phone from an authorized Telus dealership under false pretences .The sales person, Sharron Canning from Ralcomm told us that the cell phone would work anywhere where there was Telus coverage but that the Mike part of the phone wouldn’t work everywhere because it uses a different network which was fine with us. It so happens that the phone doesn’t work at all where there isn’t Mike reception. We were clear with her that we needed the phone to work at our second residence. We do get Telus coverage in our city but the cell phone doesn’t work. We found that out a few months later when we first visited our residence and called a Telus representative to see what was going on. One of them told us that the reason why that was was because the towers were down. The next day, we called back and the representative told us that the towers were never down but that we couldn’t use a Mike phone in our area. So far, we’ve spoken to 3 representatives and 2 of them misinformed us. Meanwhile we are paying the work $150 per month unable to use a $250 that we bought a few months ago so we wouldn’t have to sign a 3 year contract. We thought we would be careful this time since we’ve been lied to from Telus representatives in the past. For months, we tried to cancel our service but they wanted a cancellation fee. Not a chance we were going to pay for that especially after spending that much money. I finally got the Better Business Bureau involved and they finally waived the cancellation fee. Mean while, I’m still paying $150+ each month for a phone that I can’t use. So now they want me to pay a $535.35 bill for 3 months of service that I was unable to use before we got it cancelled with the Better Business Bureau. I have a full time job like anybody else and I only have so much time to deal with that kind of unfairness. My husband and I spent countless HOURS on the phone with representatives that passed us like a ball or put us on hold. Nice tactic Telus. I still refuse to pay but like any unpaid bills it’s about to go to the collection agency. It’s kind of a loose loose situation for a vulnerable customer like me even though we paid our monthly bill of $150 for the previous months.

Things learn in this: - Telus will not take responsibility for any of their authorised dealership so, don’t let yourself fouled by it.

- Since 2 out of 3 people don’t know what they’re talking about, ask your question to at least 15 different people.

- It’s okay to steal from people as long as you don’t find who’s guilty.
