Philips DVD player

I purchased a Philips DVD player (DVP642) from Circuit City in Pasadena in June 2006. It stopped working in December of 2006. Circuit City refuses to replace it or back their products they sell. A DVD player is not suppose to last only 6 months, plus it was used maybe 20 times. I called Philips and they would only pay for parts, meaning that the cost of labor and shipping will probably add up to almost the cost of the unit. I will never buy a Philips brand again. Circuit City does not stand behind the products they sell, I will never purchase anything from them in the future.
