I have a documented complaint against New Scooter. I just came

across this site and would like to make other consumers aware of

their terrible customer service. Unfortunately because of the amount

of time (over 90 days) it took for New Scooter to answer my numerous

requests for repair (they promised to pay) I was unable to request a

refund through my credit card. New Scooter said they would dispute

a full credit request for the great inconvienence of having a brand

new scooter that was a lemon from the start. After 15 minutes of

trying to start it each time (turns out the starter was bad) we then

had to deal with new tires going flat after only to laps on the

concrete road. I was told to read the manual for starting

suggestions and after at least 3 calls I finally received replacement

tires (only because I asked for an email of the tracking number).

Convinced the something was wrong with the engine I was giving

instructions on how to take to a repair shop and receive

reimbursement for any necessary work. Of course the repair shop

could only use parts from New Scooter. See the pattern. We had to

wait several weeks and follow up calls to get the part shipped

necessary to repair the bad starter. One really doesn't need to pull

their back muscles to start the Black Widow as my 13 yr old son had

done. Once the part was replaced the scooter worked much better most

likely as it should have right out of the box. Repair shop tried for

a week to contact New Scooter for reimbursement never got through. I

finally gave in a bad the repairs since it was over 3 mos from date

of purchase and my son really wanted to ride his scooter that he had

received 3 mos earlier and had at most clocked 10 minutes on it

because of the tires and the bad starter. i submitted the work

claim to New Scooter just as they had asked me with the promise that

a reimbursement check would be in the mail the next day. There were

issues when I never received a check or confirmation of my repair

charges. I sent follow up emails with the attached receipt still no

response. Finally submitted a claim to the BBB and cc'd New Scooter

of my actions. This was the point at which New Scooter offered a

full refund if I would retract my complaint. I said I would once

they followed through on their offer. Nothing every was credited and

New Scooter actually stopped replying to the BBB. The complaint is

still active with the BBB of Chicago and I highly recommend that no

one buy from this company because of their poor service and review

the formal complaint against them. From previous buyers complaints I

see that they pulled the same service It is interesting that they

offer 6 mos warranties because you will need it and they also offer

a lifetime but I bet you can count on them taking a lifetime to fix

it. Buyer beware with this company
