Whirlpool Direct Drive Model 110LSQ9500LT

We have purchased whirlpool and Kenmore laundry equipment from Sear sor over fifty years, and have upgraded each

time.

We bought subject washer from Sears in Boise in 2001 and dutifully bought their service contract each time.

The top of the top loader is rusting both on the hinged door and also underneath of the top panel.

Sears has rejected any repair stating that they only fixed movable parts.

How can this annoying problem be resolved?
