I was using diet food nutriystem's online ordering and automatic delivery service. they automatically ship a 4-6 week food supply until one cancels. on approx my 4th shipment, i opened a package of oatmeal (add water type) and found it full of maggots!! i called the company who offered to replace the package, but otherwise was not too concerned. i was so disgusted by the maggot episode that i found it hard to open another package of food. i decided to go off the program for a while. so grossed out i was, it was a few months before i TRIED to go back on. when i did open the next item, a can of soup, it had a very odd consistency and tasted bad. i next tried a granola bar and it was covered with bugs and what appeared to be spider webbing!!! i called nutrisystem to replace the food and they refused, saying it was past the 30 day return policy. when i said some expiration dates indicated the food should be fine and others had no date, she said they dont make the food and are not responsible. they told me to seek resoluation with my credit card company. the credit card company would not back me up when faced with nutrisystems 30 day return policy. nutrisystem automatically ships this food. they encourage you to have 14 days supply so you never run out. one can easily have bad food they won't even know about till after 30 days. even if i hadnt gone off program for a few months this could occur. i am out $280 for this bug infested food. some could POSSIBLY be edible, but i will not continue to open cans and packages and find maggots and spider webs. i only wanted a replacement,, now i want a refund. they should not be allowed to get away with this. i will spread the story of their bugs to the world!
