internal medicine, 95 madison avenue, morristown nj 07960 this medical firm has decided that spending 39 cents to mail you a copy of a medical report is far too much for them to spend. they cite cost as the reason that they want you to drive 7 miles, pollute the earth with gas fumes so they dont have to spend 39 cents to put it in the mail. how cheap can you get. is this a new trend in medical care. certainly they dont tell you up front before you seek services that they have this policy that they wont let you have your reports unless you drive miles in to pick it up so they dont have to use a 39 cent stamp to send it to you. what makes it even more aggravating is that they are sending me other papers and refused to put the report in the same envelope. my bills with them are all paid, so it is not ransom that they are holding the report for. is this a new trend in medical care - this cheapness?

I have been a patient of one of the drs for more than 18 yrs, I switched to another dr within the sme practice about 8+ yrs ago. The office is cheap cheap cheap. They will not give you your file -- UNLESS you pay for it. They wont let you take your file to make copies for yourself. ONLY they can make the copies AND charge you $1 per page -- front being one charge and back being a 2ND charge. Luckily, I left the pratice over 2yrs ago.. and they are STILL holding my file randsom unless I pay for them to send a copy ot my new doctor. WHAT happened to copying us on everything so we could manage our our health care.. since obviously they cant??? The response from the office staff was "technically its NOT your file. Its the Doctor's file on you. Therefore the Doctor's possession." Additionally, they dont have email? How about scanning a file and sending electronically? go green!
