complaint I sold items on Ebay and the bidders paid with paypal. When I tried to withdraw my money from PayPal, they "Limited Access" to my account. They told me that I needed to provide them with more info. This includes all my personal documents, including social security card, driver's license, etc. They also want original sales slips for ALL items that I have sold on Ebay, which is a big problem because I bought most of the items at yard sales, and the rest of the items I have had for over 20 years. They also want tracking numbers for items that I have shipped, they want me to upgrade to a business account (even though I told them I don't have a business), and much more. I have tried reasoning with them on the phone, it seems that they are reading their responses to me out of a book, and I always get the same response. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but after being on hold for 4 hours I received the same responses from the supervisor. They couldn't give me an explanation for lim iting my account and keeping the $3,000 in my account. I explained that I didn't have sales slips for my items, or tracking numbers, but that he could check my 100% feedback on Ebay and see that the buyers were very happy with the items. He admitted that it was impossible to comply with all their requests, but if I didn't... they would not let me withdraw my money. I have spent thousands of dollars shipping items that I have not been paid for. Paypal's purpose is to accept payments from buyers, then give the money to the sellers.. it is supposed to be safer!!! PayPal sends out automated responses to all my emails, and robot-like responses to all my telephone inquiries. I have sent them letters through the mail, but have not received any response to those either. I have searched the internet and found thousands of other victims of PayPal's scam! Yesterday they took money out of my checking account without my permission to cover my Ebay fees. This money is supposed to be taken from my paypal account, but that money is froze... and like PayPal told me... they will get their money any way they can. Ebay is a nice way to make extra money, but it's very difficult to sell anything if you don't accept PayPal for payments. PayPal is a nightmare for sellers! Buyers can claim to have never received the items, or just do a credit card charge-back anytime they like... the seller loses every time. What's worse is when PayPal decides they will steal all your money... and they usually get away with it (from what I've read). I checked with the Better Business Bureau, but it seems that 2 of Ebay's executives also serve as executives on the Better Business Bureau (Ebay owns PayPal). There have been a few class-action lawsuits against PayPal, but they seem to recover the money paid out from those lawsuits from other PayPal users like me. I guess most people give up and let PayPal steal their money... but they don't know who they're messing with this time! After I take PayPal to court... and obviously win... I will make sure everyone knows the truth!
