Direct Energy Protection Plan My complaint is to do with the Plumbing Protection Plan at Direct Energy, The plumber did not put a thick enough gasket on the toilet after doing some work. The water leaked down stairs over a 2 month period creating a 2 ft. hole in the ceiling. They will not take responsibility after a year of putting me off, even trying to get me to put it through my insurance.The claims department is being flooded with calls after signing up thousands of new customers on these programs and not being ready for the mistakes the ordinary plumber makes in a day.Everybody knows what damage can be done with water in a house, just check with the insurance company about the complaints that are coming through on these plans. The old time tested ...know the guy who your inviting into your house... apply's today more than ever when it comes to plumbing and the huge problems that are created on a little lack of experience. Direct Energy just can't keep up with a new service that will take years to streamline to get it right. You have better stand and watch and be ready for mistakes that will happen if you use this program. Leaks might not occur that minute when the job is done, it sometimes takes a few days of strong water pressure to create a problem.
