Bally's total Fitness is are scam artists On January 15th I saw a TV ad for Bally's that stated that you could join Bally's for 0 down. I called to 1-800-FITNESS number and got connected with my local club. I spoke to Brian the sales manager (unfortunatly I didn't get his last name. I explained that I used to be a member and saw the ad on TV and was looking to join again. I explained to him that I did not have a credit card or a checking account, but he explained that would be fine and he could work it out when I got there, so I made a 5:30 appointment. When I showed up Brian met me at the front desk, and then we went back to a private office. Once we arrived he excused himself and left me alone for a few minutes. Once he got back he told me he was going to explain the regular prices and then go over the special prices they have now. I was told that the start up fee was $150, but that Bally's was canceling that and only asking first and last down on the plan that you choose from. I chose the basic plan and was told I'd have top put down $75 and he needed a ID. I explained that I was interrested in the 0 down plan that I saw on TV. I was by Brian that that advertisment was just a way to get people in. He offered me a one day for the next day, but I didn't go back. I find it dispicable that company's like Bally's can fruad people into comming in to join the join the club. This is not only fraud, but false advertising. I will be contacting a attorney and the better business bureau regarding this matter.
