Another duped Inphonics (Wirefly) customer Hi, I googled "Inphonics" since being told by Cingular's Wirefly cell phone departments' "The Rebate Center" (yeah, confusing) that it was the company to write a letter to due to my dissatisfaction with the cell phone rebate scam that I was duped into accepting by Wirefly.
It's been exactly 31 weeks!!! I have made NUMEROUS inquiries since purchasing "2" Razor phones with 2-year agreements with Cingular through an AOL pop-up ad (that still runs) from Wirefly.
I was told that my credit card would be charged $89 for each Razor, but that the phones would arrive in 2 business days with a rebate form to complete and mail in. I was told that once I completed and signed the rebate forms, my rebate check would be sent to me. Well, as promised the Razors arrived in 2 business days with the rebate forms inside. The rebate forms told a whole different story!
Each phone had 2 different rebate forms (two $40 rebates and two $50 rebates) that had a slew of requirements that included but not limited to: * include a copy of each phones' sales receipt dated June 12, 2006 * include a copy of the UPC label from each of the Razor boxes * include a copy of your 3rd phone bill but do not mail before 150 days of your sales receipt or offer is void (huh?...did I read that right?) * the rebates were split into "4" separate forms with 4 separate sets of requirements to be postmarked "no earlier than 150-180 days from the date on the sales receipt"! They were making me wait 5 to 6 months to mail my rebate forms! Here it is January 16, 2007 and I spoke with "The Rebate Center" at 1-866-607-9877 and guess what, "your rebates are pending"!
This is a scam of the highest egregious nature! My next correspondance is to the following: * Inphonics * Cingular/AT&T Wireless * The Better Business Bureau * The Federal Trade Commision * ABC 7 on your side * Consumer Affairs * Consumer Reports * and any one else I can think of that can shut these deceptive practices down! By the way, here's some great info from John another duped Inphonics "happy" customer: Inphonics 1010 Wisconsin Ave Suite 600 Washington, DC 20007 (202) 333-0001 From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Tuesday, 16-Jan-07 16:45:03 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisGuess what, I got fully refunded thanks to the Better Business Bureau AND best news of all: INPHONICS WENT BANKRUPT!!!
