2006 CHEVY SILVERADO

2006 CHEVY SILVERADO Spitzer Chevrolet North Canton,Ohio I purchased a new 2006 Chevy extended cab Silverado with the V6 engine early 2006 and within a week I returned to the dealer to address a vibration in the exhaust system and to my astonishment they were aware of this problem and even had a patch for it or bandade as I call it. The service manager at Spitzer said the patch was made available to those customers who complained about the vibration and noise. He said GM was offering this because I was a valued customer and they wish to make me happy. The 2006 Silverado comes equipped with a all stainless steel exhaust system and this patch consisted of sawing a section out of exhaust pipe in a specified area and installing a 3" piece of flex pipe which was to be purchased form a local exhaust shop and then installing counter weights as many as needed until the vibration is minimized. I asked if this would correct the problem and they said there may still be some vibration. I said the wasn't acceptable and declined this patch and took my complaint to Kevin Sptizer the owner and expressed my disappointment that he sold me a vehicle that they new may of had this problem without informing me first. I said I wished to return the vehicle or exchange it for another and he said that wasn't possible because as far as he was concerned this problem wasn't an issue and did not call for a buy back. He suggested I could trade it in on the model with the V8 engine which did not have this problem and pay the difference. I said that would be fine but he should absorb the difference in cost under the circumstances and he declined this suggestion. He suggested I call GM and resolve it with them. I then called GM and talked with there customer service about this issue and they said that it was a dealer problem and resolve it with them. I then turned to my local better business bureau and filed a compliant with them. They filed my complaint and a hearing was setup to resolve this issue with GM. The BBB concluded that even though GM new of this problem prior to the sale which was verified by memos sent to the dealer on how to fix the problem they had to involve Ohio's' lemon law. I informed them this wasn't acceptable because it did not involve a official recall by GM to fix the problem. I still have the vehicle and the built in vibration which wasn't an option listed on the sticker.
