Valvoline Instant Oil
|
Valvoline Instant Oil I am a single working parent and due to a busy schedule and for convenience, I used the neighborhood Valvoline Instant Oil station for oil changes and basic preventative maintenance. The recommended 30 thousand mile scheduled maintenance as outlined in the service manual was performed elsewhere. At 13,825 miles, Valvoline Instant Oil at 13411 Olive Boulevard advised me that I needed to have my air filer changed. They took out a factory installed part that cost under $50.00 and replaced it with a $19.99 part that was too small for my vehicle. At 43,447 miles I learned that Valvoline replaced the factory part with their own product that was inferior and did not properly fit my vehicle. It cost me another $47.62 to replace the Valvoline part. According to the recommended service schedule, my vehicle did not need a new air filter before it reached 30,000 miles. A bad air filter reduces the power of the engine, reduces fuel efficiency, and allows abrasive particles of dirt and other debris to compromise the engine.
