REFUND

REFUND I went into the Newington, CT store on Saturday to cancel a layaway. I have been extremely ill in the past few months and have been unable to put payments on it. Upon speaking to the women in cust service, they informed me that they have had "NO CONTACT" from me and therefore cancelled the layaway in December. I asked about the two payments paid, one on a credit card, one cash, and they replied that they "refunded" the credit card on 12/31 and didn't have an address to send me the cash refund. I proceeded to verify my address, which was on file, and they said they would take care of it.
I checked my credit card for 12/31 which they said had been refunded and the card (bank card) is now different than when originally used in August. I called back the store to let them know this and not only was the woman I spoke to very rude but very unhelpful. She said that they can only return the amount back to the original card. Well, I no long have that "original" card. Also with following up on the release of the cash refund (I understand it needs to be a check) NOTHING was processed or even noted from my visit on Saturday. She also told me the woman would not be in today and there was nothing she can do.
As someone who works in customer service, I feel that this is very unprofessional and unacceptable for a customer to accept this type of response. Please let me know what I can do to get this matter resolved
