EXPEDIA.COM - are they just a "used car salesman" ?

I never thought of the site Expedia.com of ever using a "bait and switch" tatics but thats what it felt like to me when they promoted the high end of a hotel chain and after arriving at the actual hotel, I was directed to a poorly maintained single level highway facing motel across the busy highway. If I had known what I was actually paying for, it would have been different but due to the multiple paths to booking a room on their web site, it was not made clear to me in the very fine print pointed out by Expedia's customer service when we arrived upset. They ignored our complaint on the phone and a followup email provided a "template - thanks and we'll keep that in mind" remark back.

I wanted to post this to warn people to beware of websites that hide details in the fine print and obsure paths. Buyer beware or so i have found in my experience with Expedia.com. I now use Travelocity.com which is comparatively clear and more direct.
