Allbrand Windows in San Leandro, CA is very flaky. BUYER BEWARE: DO NOT BUY

WINDOWS FROM THEM!!! They cancelled out on me the day & time they were

supposed to show up to do a window installation. This is due to their

staffing issue and lack of management. Now... should their staffing issue

and lack of management be really my problem??? The reason why I hired a

"company" rather than hiring "someone" from down the street is that I expect

a company to deliver results and follow thru. I expected a whole lot more

from Allbrands. Also with my experience with Allbrands,

customers are passed from one person to another from the start of the

ordering process so no one really knows what's going on.

They have a total disregard for the customer. I drove 50 miles out early in

the morning to be to be at the property and made plans around my schedule to

be there for the window installers. I'm there, but they're not there... We

got the call for the cancellation when they were supposed to be there. I

called the Sales person and expressed that the window needs to be installed

on that day because that is what I had agreed upon with Allbrands. The issue

just got dropped.

I'm a very busy person. I'm usually out the door by 5:30am and come in late

in the evenings. Hence that is why I hired a company to do the window

installation and made arrangements around my own schedule to be at the

property and drove 50 miles out to be there. They called a few days later

to re-schedule, but I refuse to support flaky companies like Allbrands who

can just drop their customers on a whim! Sorry, I don't want to do business

with unreliable companies.

Complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau. They refuse to

give me back my deposit. Their response was: they do installs if they will

find someone to work on Saturday. This was not disclosed to me at the

beginning. Gee, if I had known that from the beginning, I would have

scheduled on a different day or FIND ANOTHER COMPANY THAT CAN ACTUALLY DO

THE JOB!

Following my complaint to AllBrand Windows regarding the failure of their measurement technician to properly include the requirement for a larger header to install one of my windows, they promptly called me back and offered to deduct the offending window from my contract price. I found their sales and installation staff as well as their area manager to be reasonable and qualified, and would recommend them for another installation.

I concur with everything that the previous consumer stated. My nightmare began on December 12, 2007. The salesperson at the San Leandro Allbrand Store had promised installation of shuttles and a kitchen blind for my New Year's family get-together. New Year's Eve came and went. It is almost April, and my order has not been completed. Their store managers were very apologetic, and blame everything on the production line of Hunter Douglas. For the four months,the San Leandro store emplyees never returned any of my calls as they had promised, and all merchandise follow up calls were initialized by me. When I requested for my order to be canceled and money refunded, the store employees gave up dealing with me, and passed me to the the installing contractors. They also could not fulfill the order, and kept me waiting with emppty promises. In speaking to the installing company employees they were mean and completely lack any customer service sensitivities. Allbrand should be investigated, and a warning to consumers not to buy from them. I cannot recommend Allbrand to even my worst enemy. This has been the worst buying experience I have ever encountered. The only positive thing about this entire experience, I have watched old man winter end and the start of a glorious spring and the rejuvenation of the garden all because of a big wide kitchen window without the blinds.
