QVC, BERRY HILL POLICE, QUACKER FACTORY QVC Shopping Quacker Factory and the Berry Hill Police, Nashville Tn I was accused of identity theft July 21. I had just got back from vacation that day and had several packages on my desk from QVC. I picked them up and put the packages on the floor to open later after I took care of my business first. About 3 pm 2 squad cars drove up in our driveway. They got out and asked to speak to the owner. Art went out to see what they wanted. After a few minutes they came into the office and asked me it I order from QVC. I told them yes. Then they asked if I have a habit of sending merchandise to the office in other peoples name. I told them no. He then asked if those were my packages on the floor which I said yes. He then wanted to see them. As he looked at the packages he begin to accuse me since one of the packages had another persons name on it. They kept badgering me to confuse and told me it would be better if I came clean now. I told them I knew nothing about this and I wanted to call QVC. They would not let me call get on the computer to check out my account or anything. At that point I was so upset, crying and everything else. They asked to see my credit cards, then my account in the computer. They were just about to arrest me. They allowed me to call QVC and they talked to someone in customer service about the package. After a few minutes they took the package and said they would get back to me next week. I was so sick the whole weekend. I did not leave my apartment not even my bedroom. I was so terrified that something else was going to happen since he told my boss," it would not surprise them if I did not have charges all over Nashville. I came into work on Monday(July 24) and my boss was talking the Berry Hill Police about this matter. At that time they felt I did nothing wrong. I called QVC to see if they had found out anything as to what happen. They could not tell me anything because they did not know how this persons Q number got on my business address.I spoke with an Ann Palladino in the fraud area and all she could say they do not know what happen. I told them at that time I did not want any of the merchandise that I had purchased. She told me not to get hasty about that. I did like the outfits I had purchased but would not dare put them on my back if this could not be fixed. My boss decided to write a letter to the chief of police about the way they came in to our office while a client was getting an airline ticket. It was most embarrassing they were like the Gestapo with hand cuffs ready. After they received the letter the chief met with Art. When Art came back into the office he told me they did not accept anything that he had to say and they felt "Where there is smoke there is fire. That just upset me more. After a couple of weeks I called QVC again I spoke to a Deloris in the presidents off and she seemed understanding, boy was I wrong. She contacted this Ann Palladino who called me telling me there was nothing they could do. I repeated I did not want this merchandise and in now way would I ever use them for anything. I was told then I could not return the merchandise because it was past 30 days. I had about $600 worth of clothes that was charged on my accounts and I was being accused of theft for $24. This continued on for weeks. Then one day I was in on our visa account looking for something else and I found a charge for $24.21. I called QVC about this and they told me that this was not my name and that it had been turned over to the fraud dept. I could not believe what I heard. This blouse for $24.21 is on my credit card and I have been accused of identify theft. How can you call this identity theft when we paid for the blouse. How on earth could this happen and they come after me. I then called Ann Palladino and told her what I discovered. She then called the credit card company to verify that this was in deed in our name not this other person. I called the Berry Hill Police about this 3 different times and they still have not come by once. They still have the blouse and we paid for it on our card. I then sat down on Oct 19 and wrote a letter the President and CEO of QVC explaining what had happen and QVC will not own up to the fact they SCREWED up and put the wrong Q number on OUR CREDIT CARD. I asked if they could send me a letter so that I would have a record for future incase something else came up about this. I called in Oct 30 and spoke to a Stephanie in customer service. She told me that I could send back the merchandise for a full refund. I got everything packed and shipped out. Cost me $21.00 to send and insure. Next thing you know they mail them back to me. I got a letter from Gary Ormont and I called QVC. When I called they told me the message in my record was she only checked 2 items. I told them I was going to refuse the packages. The packages went back. Now yesterday they mailed them back and again I refused the packages. I do not want anything to do with this company and as I talk about this I am finding more and more who hate this company. My girlfriend bought me beautiful coat from QVC to help me feel better. I sent it back. I called Ann about all this and the CEO not even acknowledging the letter she might as well laugh at me. I asked about a letter to clear me and all she could say to me was "OVC in no way send you a letter when they don't know what happen. I know because it is very simple, I called in to place and order and they pulled up the wrong QVC number with some else's name and put it on MY CREDIT CARD and sent it to my work address. I would like a letter of apology from all that is involved and get rid of the clothing from Quaker Factory. I want to be able to drive down the streets in Berry Hill not afraid they might be looking for me for something else. I also want the money back from the blouse the Berry Hill Police took. An apology to the gentleman who was in my office the day this happen. Which has not been back since. I plan to call the Better Business Bureau about this too. I think I am done for ever ordering anything on the phone or computer. This had taught me how poor the training is for the ones who take our information and miss use it. This could happen to you....be careful.
