2005-2006 and 2006-2007

I was approached In my office by a gentlemen who was looking to sell advertisement in a "NEW" Telephone book that offered much more circulation for much less $$$.I was very interested.Almost too good to be true as it was a third of what I had paid from the other phone company.I purchased the add and was told that the book would be out June or July...he was new and didn't know the exact date.

When Late June rolled around I called to see when the books were ready to be sent? I was told soon...They would personally deliver one to my location.They put one on my Front sidewalk.

Well I was excited...went to my mothers who lived two streets over and asked her if she seen my new add? I said it was in the NEW phone book.To make this story short....My mother never got one!

My lady friend lives 25 miles away and I went to her house the way of the country roads. I kept passing each house and on the side of the road were these bags that looked like they had some sort of mail in them...After about a week and very few moved or picked up I got out of my truck to see what they were.

They were "TheTalking Phone Book-Saratoga/Glensfalls NY edition"

Well being a PAID subscriber/ADVERTISER I felt very cheated.I wondered how many had been left,with some just thrown on banks,in yards at the end of driveways etc.Many of these books just on this one road were truly destroyed by weather(rain) as they were not sealed!

2006-2007 came and once again they came looking for my add.I shared with them the problem and concern.They stated that they knew they had a circulation problem and that they had thier own company coming out to correct it as they were personally delivering them making sure each and every home and business got a book.

This too was a joke.Although it was better...many books had been delivered in the same manner.When a gent from the same company approached me about becoming a advertiser, not knowing I was already one I explained the whole case and he said once again it was a problem....So now I have a bill I am contracted to pay...yet feel I was taken by "The Talking Phone Book" Saratoga/Glensfalls NY.

My recommendations for ANYONE is to pay the extra money to use any book other then "THE TALKING PHONE BOOK"

They assure you that a survey has been done and they are sure at 97% had gotten their books and that no complaints on destroyed books. I have 13 books that people have given me proving my point!

Ask them for two consecutive books from the same area and see how many people advertise with the again!

I understand your concern. I delver books for the Talking Phonebook. Let me say that they are ruthless in their phone book delivery checks.

They recently switched to in house delivery to further improve deliver. For us delivery guys it is a headache sometimes because the advertiser is given the full benefit of doubt. If the advertiser says they didn't get one, we have to re-deliver. Even in cases when we know we delivered and argue the point we still have to re-deliver. Your point of missed areas does happen. But since they decided to deliver in-house this has become almost non-existent. We as delivery people are many times called back to an area an hour away if we miss one home. Every other phone book company hires out the delivery part of their phone book business. I think, especially looking forward advertisers will see a much improved and better delivery saturation than what is offered by other phone book companies.
