Zipset wall timer switch

Company: Zipset wall timer switch
Category: Other
www.hardwareinnovations.com division of Sylvania
Installation of model SA170 timer switch requires 3 wires in the wall box. Many houses have only two. That's why competitors' timers require only two, and why I ordered the timers expecting only two. Now I have to pay for return shipping. This is very poor design engineering. Even worse, technical support at their number 888-548-4484 suggested connecting the white wire to the ground. But the ground isn't for returning excess current; it's for emergency overflow.
