Tivo doesn't live up to advertised promsies

Tivo promises to be able to transfer recording to DVD's, use a number of different software companies to record DVD's (only one company Roxio barely works at $99 a pop extra), works with any cable system, work with wireless networks..none of its true. Adding on the network costs $89 extra too, so besides the year contract you're stuck with all these addons if you want to just make DVD's of shows and movies.

Now all of a sudden TiVoToGo (Tivo Desktop 2.3 the PC software you need to transfer) won't transfer more than 2megs (about 1 minute) of any show recorded on the dvr2. Everything was fine until this weekend.

I'm so tired of these little surprise issues with this software popping up out of the blue every other month, it should be set and go! its always something, there's no online support, just other users and you have to pay for phone support

In further reading support articles i see they want us to open TCP & UDP ports (Brilliant since you're on a wireless network and yes anybody could get in even if you do it to just your computers, opening ports is opening ports - why do you think firewalls close them - dohh!)

Next article says they'll fix the cable box 2 second delay bug that is shutting down the tivo 2 go transfers - some day! Nice, thanks guys for an ETA...don't break a sweat on our monthly fees okay! Oh and setting up a manual recording each week is so fun and defeats your whole season pass concept doesn't it?

Next i see the link to "Can you record DVD's" has now been removed/broken off the site, nice after those of us that have made the year's contract and investment into the equipment and lame Roxio. Yes it just gets better and better the deeper we go! And lets see how long before someone yells at me for speaking my mind on the Tivo board again in AMERICA land of free speech boys! As much as the concept is great, the service is awful! Hey someone with a few bucks, here's your chance to swoop in and take over as a competitor, do a better job for a dollar less per month in five years you could have all thier subscribers!
