RCA DVD Recorder/VCR Combo The device cannot always read its own recorded DVD. It will arbitrarily indicate a disc problem when it has been recording on that disk for four or five times from TV half hour programs. This is before the DVD's have been finalized. I have had to discard several dozen DVD's and consequently have lost much time and many recorded programs. The RCA Company will not respond to my complaints except to say to unplug and then replug the electrical cord to clear the problem. The unreadable discs cannot be recovered but the Recorder will then work for a short time and subsequently revert back to the same problem of not being able to read its own recorded DVD's. We sent it off to Thomson,when we contacted them they said they could not do anything and gave us a number to call. My husband called them and they told him that it wasn't fixable.My husband said ok when can I expect a new one ( the unit was still on warrenty). they said it was on back order and there where alot of people ahead of us. My huband ask about the refund, they said they could give him the market value of $137.00.. Rob (my husband)could not beleive what they said the machine cost over 250.00 and we had to pay shipping to get it there.they are just giving us the runaround. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now they (Thomson) are sending out my SECOND replacement unit. They refuse to refund my money or provide a different model. It's a worthless piece of crap. I have posted a complaint on this site and hopefully the word will get out how bad this company is about backing up their products.
