2002 Toyota RAV 4

2002 Toyota RAV 4

My 2002 RAV 4 recently cost me $3900. for a new computer / new transmission that Karl Malone Toyota in Albuquerque, New Mexico refused to reimburse me for. The Powertrain Control Module is BAD, BAD, BAD in the 2001-2003 RAV 4's causing the transmission to go out. Toyota KNEW about this defect and extended the warranty, but DIDN'T contact their customers; thusly making their consumers pay for THEIR defect. When I spoke w/ the service manager at Karl Malone Toyota he said he'd call me back re: the problem, but he didn't - I had to call him. When I finally talked w/ him again - it was my problem, not Toyota's.

Technical bulletin #1046 w/ Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Assoc. is where I found out about the defective Toyota computer/transmission. I certainly wasn't informed from Toyota about it.
