The National car rentals simply “bait and switch” when providing rental services to me. I called the main number and reserved the premium car for $352.00 as representative was able to offer me a weekly discount. I was also told that if I return the car one day earlier it wouldn’t be an issue and my account will be prorated. When I arrived to the rental place in Newark Liberty Airport on Wed 21st 2007 I couldn’t get the car I liked and was offered an upgrade for $20 extra. I gladly agreed to this deal and also asked in case if I need to leave a day earlier would they be able to prorate my account for one day, which representative agreed to. My total for 5 days ended up to be $511.74. When I returned the car one day earlier on Sunday 25th 2007 an agent told me that my balance is $583.77 which is not even $511.74. And when I asked the representatives Maria and Justin to assist me with this issue they told me that nothing can be done since none of the previous agents made any comments anywhere in my account.


 


I was offered far better deals from next door rental places, such as Dollar and the only reason agreed to this is because of the original price which eventually gone up by at least $150 more, excluding the upgrade. I strongly believe that there are better ways to get customers then such practice
