2 Litre Pet bottle of 7 - Up (complaint)

Dear Sir / Respected Madam,

I purchased a 2 Litre Pet bottle of 7-Up from MONGINIS, Sakuntala Park, Behala, Kolkata, on 24.02.2007. The company - provided details available on the bottle tell me that I am supposed to get a packet worth Rs. 8/= of KurKure, free with this pet bottle.

The aforementioned shop from where I had purchased this 7-Up bottle did not provide me with the free gift at the time of purchase. An enquiry on this discrepancy at a later time (I noticed the offer only when I reached home), on the same day, resulted in the shop owner (Mr. Sudip) telling me that this offer is no longer valid, and must be a mistake on part of PEPSICO INDIA, who must have run out of bottle wrappers, and are consequently distributing bottles that have the old – wrappers with the free offer, on them!

It is not the question of foregoing a free packet worth Rs. 8/= of KurKure. What I have an issue with is the fact that MONGINIS, Sakuntala Park, Kolkata, or PEPSICO INDIA is at fault in this case; the net result being that an innocent customer is either fooled by the former, or deceived by the latter!

In connection with the above complaint, I wish to convey to you that Pepsico India / Monginis (I am yet to know which among them) has compensated my claim with the requisite KURKURE packet.
