Do not buy from circuit city!

On 4/29/2006 I purchased a $2000 sony vaio laptop from circuit city. When i was rung out, the guy asked me if i wanted to add a service plan to the item. I stated to the cashier that i wanted the 2 year accidental damage plan for the laptop which cost me $500 alone for the plan. Then about a month ago (1/2007) i spilled a drink on my laptop and accidentally knocked it off my desk cracking the screen on it. When i called to have my laptop serviced, they told me that they would have to call me back in 48 hours to verify my warranty information. Two days later a man from the service department called me back stating that i did not have the 2 year accidental damage coverage but i in fact had the 4 year regular service plan without accidental damage coverage, and that my computer could not be serviced. I then stated to him that I was looking at the receipt in my hands that specifically told me that my computer was covered under the accidental damage plan from 4/29/2006 to 5/29/2008. He then told me that this is not what was in the system & there was nothing that he could do about it. I then called their corporate number and explained my situation to the representative and she pulled up the information on the purchase. She then told me that the computer, along with the warranty, the mouse that i bought and the antivirus that i bought, were all returned on the same day that i purchased them (4/29/2006) and it was all re-bought two days later with a different service plan on 5/1/2006. I explained that this was impossible since i was only in the store on one day (4/29/06) & i had never been back to that store since i don't live by there. I also asked her how a laptop that i bought could be returned and re-purchased with out my knowledge and without my consent, and she couldn't give me an answer. She then told me that there was nothing that she could do as it was a store issue and told me to contact that store where i purchased the computer. I then called the store and they are looking into it but i have spent over 4 hours on the phone with various circuit city representatives and my computer is still not even close to being fixed. I am also contacting my credit card company to obtain information on the transactions. This also looks like credit card fraud by circuit city to me as they returned an item that i had purchased and re-bought it with a different service plan with my credit card, all without my knowledge.
