cingular wireless

This is a personal complaint.

My Husband as been transferred to an area where "cingular wireless" isnt available as the company told me. Yet they do have service there as "edge wireless". We were forced to cancel our agreement, resulting in a $300.00 fee. When we got the first statement I wrote them a letter letting them know I would be able to pay $50.00 a month till paid off I also included a payment of $50.00, the next month I got my statement and sent them another $50.00 dollars, so far I have paid them $150.00 since Jan 17 2007, today is Feb 24th. They have cashed my checks, sent statements, so I thought all was going well. Till yesterday ! I got a call from a collection agency for this bill. Which like I said, I have been paying and they have been cashing and have made no mention of there being any issues. I am very upset, and feel blindsided. I called Cingular Wireless yesterday and talked to a supervisor who quite frankly didnt give a damn. Told me basically that just because I wrote them a letter doesnt mean they agreed to it. Ok fine, but why then are they cashing my checks and never once have tried to contact me to let me know they were unhappy with my payments. Now since they sent us to collections, our credit is affected and I feel like I was taken complete advantage of. We had been with Att / Cingular for about six years and never defaulted on our bill. I feel what they have done is unjustified and I want to warn others out there about there unfair practices. As well as letting people know that no matter how great the company says they are they do have dropped calls all the time. My husband and I would experience dropped calls on a daily basis. Be wise in choosing your wireless provider. If anyone out there can help me with this issue please let me know.
